Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) Promotes Healing
If you’ve sustained a wound or a soft tissue injury, modern medical advances in platelet-rich plasma therapy (PRP) may help aid in your recovery. By injecting a high concentration of platelets directly to the affected area, PRP injections are used to help reduce inflammation and promote healing. Platelets promote blood clotting and contain more proteins that help wounds heal quicker on average. PRP injections are also used to aid patients with hair loss. Because the patient is using their own platelets for the injections, side effects are minimal using this procedure.
Trigger Point Injections to Ease the Pain
A trigger point is an especially tender, painful area of muscle that feels like a tight band or knot when it’s pressed. Pressing on the area is said to “trigger” the pain, which can shoot down your arm or up into your neck or head. These areas can be treated non-surgically using trigger point injections. This method of treatment involves the use of a fine needle and most patients don’t experience any side effects after. Pain relief can be immediate or may take several days. Please ask your health provider for advice about trigger point injections or contact us for more details!
